As usual, another nice cocktail will be online on Friday. This time we're going to work with a homemade syrup. This is so easy and I recommend everyone to do it. Some flavors really belong together, including strawberry and basil. We therefore make a recipe strawberry basil syrup gin tonic. I myself didn't come to appreciate gin and tonics much later in life. Spirits have never been my thing, but with tonic I certainly like it.
Strawberry basil syrup gin tonic
A gin and tonic is a classic and refreshing cocktail that you can easily make yourself. All you need is a good gin, a premium tonic and a nice garnish. You can vary endlessly with different types of gin, tonic and seasonings to create your own style of gin and tonic. In this article I give you a basic recipe for a fine syrup that you can serve with it.
You can spice up a gin and tonic in different ways by playing with the ingredients. Here are a few suggestions:
- Choose a different type of gin, for example a spicy, floral or fruity gin. There are many different brands and flavors on the market, so feel free to experiment.
- Choose a different type of tonic, for example an Indian, Mediterranean or Elderflower tonic. These each have their own character and can give your gin tonic a different twist.
- Add extra seasonings, for example fresh herbs, spices, cucumber, frozen fruit or edible flowers. These not only give your gin tonic more flavour, but also more color and appearance.
This is how you turn your gin tonic into a personal and original cocktail!
