Sometimes I shoot the photos of a recipe and then I'm so happy with how the images turned out! A “pour shot” is especially nice with drinks such as this non-alcoholic amaretti sour. Capture the exact moment the drink is poured from the shaker. Writing out the recipe is therefore not a punishment at all, because after that I can share it with you. And hope it hits just as hard. In any case, it is made that way, and after that you will certainly make it more often, I'm sure. Mocktail amaretti sour.

Non-alcoholic amaretti sour

You may be wondering why this non-alcoholic amaretti sour is called “Amaretti” with an i at the end, instead of “Amaretto” with an o. There's a good reason for that. An amaretto sour is the original cocktail with alcohol, made with amaretto liqueur.

Non-alcoholic amaretti sour

You should not call another version without alcohol the same, because that would be misleading. You might think that there is alcohol in it, when that is not the case. That's why this mocktail is called amaretti sour, with an i. The recipe is otherwise the same, only you use almond syrup instead of amaretto liqueur.

A "sour" is therefore a mixed drink, often with protein in it for a nice foam layer. If you are vegan, use chickpea aquafaba for that layer. You have many different sours with, for example, pisco, whiskey, tequila, gin, rum etc etc. So you can mix and shake to your heart's content with these kinds of drinks.

Here you will find the complete recipe with all the ingredients you need. I hope you have fun preparing the dish below.

You need:

2 whiskey glasses
strain

Ingredients:

  • 150 ml Lyres amaretti - non-alcoholic amaretto
  • 40 ml lemon juice
  • 15 ml sugar syrup
  • 20 ml protein
  • 2 cherries - Marasquin cherry, red cherry in syrup

Nice and easy: click on the logo of your favorite supermarket to add the ingredients.

And this is how you make it:

  • Cut off the lemon peel into two pieces long enough to stick on a skewer. Insert the maraschino cherry. This is the decoration for your glass. Squeeze the juice from the lemon.
  • Grab your shaker and add all the ingredients from the list (except the cherry) this amount is enough for two glasses and fits in one shaker. You use a jigger for this, which is a cocktail measuring cup to measure everything.
  • Add some ice to the shaker and shake vigorously and vigorously for 30 to 40 seconds.
  • Pour through a strainer into the glasses and add the decoration. Serve with some ice in the glass.
  • Cheers!
