Now I have called this puff pastry apple donut recipe a donut because its shape is somewhat similar. Of course, it has nothing to do with a donut. But it is just a little bit healthier, and it tastes just as good. Like some kind of apple pie! And we can enjoy that for a while, right? They taste best if you let them cool down for a while, but eat them warm. But luckily they are made in no time, so you don't have to wait too long for your snack. Of course we season with the cinnamon powder from my regular supplier.

I made this recipe with puff pastry, but you could also make it with croissant dough from the fresh shelf. Then it will puff up a little further, because that is a bit "fluffier" dough. For this recipe I would use a sweet apple. That's just a bit tastier than a sour apple! Also choose a firm apple so that the flesh does not fall apart during baking.
Here you will find the complete recipe with all the ingredients you need. I hope you have fun preparing the dish below.

Ingredients:
- 2 apples
- 1 role puff pastry - fresh shelf supermarket
- 1 el gingerbread spices
- 1 ei - knocked loose
- 1 el coconut blossom sugar
- powdered sugar
Nice and easy: click on the logo of your favorite supermarket to add the ingredients.
And this is how you make it:
- Cut the puff pastry roll into long strips on a cutting board.
- Wash the apple well and dry, then cut into slices and remove the core with a cutter. Sprinkle the apple with the gingerbread spices on both sides.
- Preheat your oven to 200 degrees.
- As it were, thread the strips of puff pastry around the apple.
- Place the apple donuts on a baking tray lined with baking paper and spread beaten egg on them. Sprinkle with the coconut blossom sugar. Bake in the oven for 15 to 20 minutes until the puff pastry is nice and golden brown.
- Sprinkle with some icing sugar if desired and enjoy!
Tasty snacks, who doesn't love them? I certainly do and I have a few other great ideas for you here. Some healthier but also really “wrong” snacks. Sometimes we can enjoy something with sugar.
