I've never really liked chickpeas. Small floury balls with little taste. But I found something! This somewhat healthier lifestyle simply requires some adjustments and chickpeas are part of that. How do you get them tasty on your plate or in a bowl? Yes, by baking them. Then they transform into very tasty crispy balls. And you can season and flavor it in many ways. Simply eat as a snack, but can also be used as a topping with a salad. The possibilities are endless. How do we do that? Right yes with the airfryer and not in the regular oven (although that is possible). I give you a basic recipe crispy chickpeas here! Roasted chickpea roasting recipe recipes
Basic recipe crispy chickpeas
The chickpea is a legume that has been cultivated and eaten for thousands of years. This pea has different names, for example it is also called chickpea, chickpea, or garbanzo. Originally from the Middle East, it is now consumed all over the world. The nutritional values are high with these little peas. For example, per 100 grams it contains 20 grams of protein, 15 grams of dietary fiber and only 5 grams of fat. This makes it an ideal meat substitute.
You can use chickpeas to make hummus, enrich salads or fry falafel. There is an old Turkish fairy tale that tells the story of a little boy the size of a chickpea. He has all kinds of adventures with his friends and learns important life lessons.
This is because one day a childless woman strains chickpeas and then the peas turn into children. Here in Europe we have the same kind of stories as, for example, Little Thumb, or Thumbs Up by the Brothers Grimm. Google the story and you can read it for yourself. And maybe enjoy this snack in the meantime!
Here you will find the complete recipe with all the ingredients you need. I hope you have fun preparing the dish below.

And this is how you make it:
- Preheat your airfyer for a while.
- Drain the chickpeas in a colander, reserving the juice for chocolate mousse if necessary.
- You do not need to dry the peas any further.
- Set the airfryer at 17 degrees for 190 minutes, let it dry for the first 5 minutes. Then take them out and put them in a bowl pour some olive oil over them and then put them back in the airfryer. (This should just continue counting down from 17 min to 1)
- Let them cook until the last 3 minutes. Remove them from the airfryer and sprinkle over the herbs you like. You only do this late in the process to ensure that the herbs do not burn in the aifryrer.
- After the last 3 minutes, put the crispy chickpeas in a bowl.
- Delicious bites!

Unfortunately they burn on me. It's cooked chickpeas from a jar and I have a small air fryer, would that be the problem?
Hi, no that can't be the problem, maybe lower the temperature and try something shorter. I think if you try it out you should definitely succeed. Gr Francine
