With roots in London where it was first served, Irish beer and French Champagne, it is a fairly international drink. This Black Velvet Champagne Guinness cocktail is served worldwide. Mixing beer with bubbles may not sound like the most logical combination. By the way, variations can be made, because in principle you can also use other brands of “stout”. And you can replace the more expensive Champagne with Prosecco or Cava.
Black velvet Champagne Guinness cocktail
As far as I am concerned, it is an autumn drink because of the heavier beer, but beer lovers will drink a good “pint” of Guinness all year round. If you are ever in Ireland and also in Dublin, be sure to visit the Guinness brewery. Definitely worth it!
As I wrote, you can also deviate from the recipe. This gives you the freedom to be creative in the kitchen and experiment with different flavors. For example, you can choose a different type of beer, depending on what you like, and go for a different type of bubbles that might give a unique twist to your dish.
Champagne is generally a bit more expensive than a Cava, but it can be worth it for a special occasion. Pour both spirits carefully, so that they look attractive and the aromas are released, and make sure they are well chilled to ensure the best tasting experience.
Here you will find the complete recipe with all the ingredients you need. I hope you enjoy preparing the dish below. Delicious Happen!
