Boeremos with bratwurst

Boeremos with bratwurst is nothing more than a delicious pan of kale with sausage! In earlier times, this was eaten as a tradition in Venlo during the farmer's wedding on Carnival Tuesday. That's why he still gets a nice mention here on my site in the carnival recipes category. During Carnival there is of course a lot of food and drink before the fasting period starts. Now there are very few people who actually fast during this period. Still, it's nice to honor these kinds of recipes and not to let a piece of history go to waste. kale recipe

By the way, that is a thing of the past, in the past not everyone had the opportunity to eat gravy. To add some moisture, vinegar was added to the food. Of course, a nice dollop of mustard cannot be missed.
