My pantry always has a good amount of pasta in stock. Pasta can be made so easily, and often with very few ingredients. The name of this pasta “calamarata” comes from its shape. They seem to be somewhat the same rings as calamari, squid rings! If you don't have this type of pasta at home, you can really use any other type, it will not taste any less. We finish this calamarata pesto pasta with burrata, one of my favorite Italian cheeses!

You can easily make the pesto yourself with your mortar or small food processor. You can find the recipe for this with this link. Not so fond of peas? You can also add some bell pepper or another vegetable, it doesn't matter much here either. We give the dish a little spice with some chili flakes.

You need:

Ingredients:

  • 300 gram calamari pasta - (paste kind, big rings)
  • 4 el pesto
  • 1 bowl burrata
  • 150 gram fresh peas
  • 10 caper apples
  • salt
  • peper
  • 1 tl chili flakes

Nice and easy: click on the logo of your favorite supermarket to add the ingredients.

And this is how you make it:

  • Cook the pasta according to the package with some salt.
  • Boil the peas in another pan for 12 minutes.
  • Drain the pasta and return to the pan, add the pesto and mix well. Sprinkle some pepper and chili flakes on top.
  • Mix the peas with the pasta and spoon onto the plates, break the burrata in half and place one half on each plate. Finish with the capers and possibly some fresh pepper.
  • Delicious bites!
