Champagne cocktail kir royal

Champagne cocktail kir royal

Estimated reading time: 3 minutes

Of course an ordinary glass of Champagne with New Year's Eve is very tasty, but there are also nice variations. We previously made the mimosa and the French 75. This French Champagne cocktail kir royal from Burgundy is the slightly more luxurious version of the Kir. It was served with white wine. There are also versions with Chambord or blue Curacao. In principle, it does not matter which Champagne you serve, but I would leave the real luxury for what it is. A Moët or Pannier is fine.

The “kir” in this title comes from the name of the French priest Félix Kir. So you see that your name can be linked to a drink for eternity! A true French classic. Online there is also the term Kir Royale with an E written at the end.

However, that would have to be a corruption. Because the drink is le champagne and le Kir, both masculine with “le” in front. It is also le cocktail and Kir was a man… based on that, the spelling Kir Royal without E is the most correct…

Served here with 2 cherries on a skewer, but those could also be blueberries. Adding fresh blueberries would give a refreshing and colorful twist to this dish. The choice between cherries and berries offers a tasty variation that would make the presentation of the dish even more attractive.
