Do you want a nice side dish from the BBQ? Try this recipe mushrooms in white wine sauce. Super simple to make and with a lot of flavor! And I have some fun facts for you about this vegetable. Did you know that, for example, the first documented mushroom cultivation took place in the Paris area? There they were grown in vegetable gardens on horse manure. Around 1780 a number of gardeners discovered that the quarries were very suitable for cultivation there. They did that in the quarries around Paris. That white mushroom we know so well? So it bears the name “Mushroom de Paris”. It was not until around 1825 that mushrooms were grown in Haarlem in the Netherlands. The Netherlands is now the third largest mushroom producer in the world after Poland!
