Where else but America should the brownie recipe come from? Served for the first time during an exhibition in 1893. The owner of the Palmer House Hotel wanted to serve a tasty dessert. The chief started working on it. The first version was filled with walnuts and an apricot glaze. The stewed pear is typically Dutch.
De Gieser Wildeman comes from Gorinchem. Cooking stewed pears is not complicated, you just need some time because they have to stew slowly. The cake rose quite a bit during baking. But after it cooled down, it sank back down quite a bit. You could also leave the pears whole. Then you need a slightly larger springform pan.
Variation on this chocolate brownie stewed pear cake:
Line the springform pan with baking paper. Cut off the bottom of the pears and place them on the bottom. Leave the stem on. Fill it with the brownie batter and bake it at 180 degrees for 40 – 45 minutes.
Here you will find the complete recipe with all the ingredients you need. I hope you have fun preparing the dish below.
