Chicken thigh, I love it because it is much juicier and tastier than the standard chicken breast. Especially for skewers that you prepare on the BBQ or in the Airfryer. So whether it's beautiful weather outside, or it's raining cats and dogs, you can make these lemon honey chicken thigh skewers all year round. The only thing is a day of patience because we are going to marinate the chicken thigh and leave it in the fridge overnight.
Lemon honey chicken thigh skewers
Today we make delicious lemon honey chicken thigh skewers with baharat spices. Baharat is an Arabic spice mix that gives your dishes a warm, sweet and aromatic taste. You can make baharat yourself or buy ready-made. In combination with the lemon juice, the baharat gives your meat a fresh sweet taste. We paint the chicken skewers bbq with some honey and sprinkle fresh parsley on it.
As mentioned, you can place these skewers on the BBQ, but they can also be made in the air fryer. If you do the latter, place a maximum of 5 or 6 on the bottom and set the temperature to 180 degrees. Bake them for about 12/13 minutes and turn them halfway through.
During the last turn, grease the skewers with some honey on both sides. We do this so late in the process because the sugar in the honey is different meat burns!

Ingredients:
- 350 gram chicken thigh
- 1 citroen
- 2 el honey
- 2 twigs Parsley
- 1 el baharat - spice mix
- salt
- peper
- 3 el chili oil
Nice and easy: click on the logo of your favorite supermarket to add the ingredients.
And this is how you make it:
- Cut the chicken thigh into strips / cubes. Put them in a bowl.
- Squeeze the lemon and add the juice to the bowl together with the chilli oil, 1 tbsp honey, the baharat, salt and pepper and knead everything well into the chicken thigh cubes. Place in the fridge and let marinate overnight.
- Thread the marinated chicken thigh onto the skewers.
- Heat either your bbq or your airfryer and fry the skewers. When they are almost ready, smear some honey on them again and bake them off. Sprinkle some fresh parsley on the skewers and serve!
