Croquants are a type of sweet, crunchy biscuit that originated in French cuisine. The exact moment of their origin is not known, but they have been eaten in France for a long time and are known for their unique texture and sweet taste. Croquants are made from sugar, almond flour and eggs and are usually baked until crispy and golden brown. They are often eaten as a snack or used as an ingredient in dishes such as ice cream and tiramisu.
And this is how you make the croquants aux amande:
-Preheat the oven to 200 degrees.
-In a large bowl, mix the eggs and sugar with a mixer until it is a smooth and white mousse, then gradually add the flour until it is an even mix. Finally, mix in the almonds.
-Fold a baking paper until you have 2 oblong rectangles of about 7 cm wide, place them on a baking tray and carefully pour in the mixture for the croquants aux amandes.
-Put the cookies in the oven and bake for about 15 minutes. Make sure they don't get too dark! Then remove the large slices from the oven and let them cool down.
- Then cut these slices into narrow strips with a bread knife.
- Then put them back on a baking tray with baking paper and put back in the oven at 150 degrees for about 15 minutes. Then let the croquants aux amandes cool down well.: Delicious bites!
