Protein powder! This is a useful addition, especially for the athletes among us, to get extra protein. It is often quite complicated to get your high protein intake every day. Of course you can drink a shake, but it is also nice to bake a pancake with it.

Also a source of protein, by the way, but also very good to use to make a batter. These pancakes are also deliciously healthy. Make them a day in advance and take a stack with you to work.
Beetroot powder
Oh dear, does my pancake now taste a lot like beets? No, not at all, but they do give your stack a nice pink color! We use it to make those delicious thick American pancakes. Wonderful on a Sunday morning in the kitchen.
Blueberry and banana
To give your pancake some extra flavor in a natural way, you can add fresh fruit. Blueberries and bananas are ideal to use. Not too sweet, but certainly very tasty.
Cottage cheese and apple
Another tasty addition of fruit and a protein-rich batter to the cottage cheese. In this case we cut the apple into very thin slices and dip them in the batter. This way your pancake resembles a kind of apple fritter.
