The Christmas period is often a period in which we look back on the past year and a moment of reflection. What are we grateful for and how lucky we can be that we can enjoy good food together at a beautiful table. But this is also a moment in which the thoughts often go to the people who are no longer there. The people with whom we would have liked to raise a glass one more time. This recipe should have been my father's recipe. make cranberry sauce

Ever since I can remember he made a nice jug of cranberry sauce for Christmas. He and I both love this sweet and sour stuff and I often scooped extra on my plate. I would have loved to share his recipe with you here, but unfortunately I didn't have the chance to ask him. Because sometimes you think it will come, oh I'll ask him one more time. Until suddenly that is no longer possible. I can only remember it with nostalgia and start my own tradition with a Christmas classic cranberry sauce from Delicious Happen…

A Christmas classic cranberry sauce
It will probably not have escaped your attention that these small red berries are very healthy. It is often said that you should drink the juice to prevent a bladder infection. This has not been conclusively proven, but it can't do any harm either. In moderation, by the way, because these small berries contain a lot of oxalic acid. And these can actually promote kidney stones in people who are sensitive to them. In a sauce like this, with a lot of sugar in it, we can no longer necessarily speak of a very healthy sauce, but it is tasty and it brings back many beautiful and happy memories for me.
In addition, these berries are rich in vitamin C and antioxidants, and are also a source of fiber. The combination of sweet and sour makes them a perfect addition to any dish, whether savory or sweet. Enrich your meal with this delicious berry sauce and enjoy the flavors and memories it brings back.

Here you will find the complete recipe with all the ingredients you need. I hope you have fun preparing the dish below.
