You can't ignore it anymore! They pop up everywhere like mushrooms. Apparently it's not even a hype, but something permanent. I feel like this has been going on for years now. I'll just call the entire category I'm talking about 'fit people' for convenience, because apparently you are actually a fit girl, fit boy, fit mom, fit grandma... You could say that the approach of this group is: everyone is fit or can to be in shape. But what about me? Do I have to be fit? Do I have to exercise? What should I eat then? How do I do that with the busy family life?

I really get lost in this world sometimes. There are so many things I can look up to when it comes to implementing a healthy lifestyle in our family. On the other hand, I also see so much importance in a healthy life. I am certainly not a size 34 and my life is incredibly dynamic and full. As a mother of 2 bonus sons and 1 daughter, as an employee of my employer, as the wife of my husband, as a friend of my friends, life fills up quickly. And so the delusion of the day has the upper hand. Anyway, I do have a very strong feeling that I would like to live a healthy life.. uuh!! “To the gym or not to the gym”

Sports is not a hobby of mine. However, I am crazy about good food and a plate of salad does not make me happy. I do not have time to stand in the kitchen to cook the most elaborate healthy meals! Most fit people I see even get on my nerves. They are mainly super slim, tight people who already have everything in order. I do not recognize myself in this at all. As I also write in my own bio on Instagram (myfoodylife_blog), 'I will eat that healthy lifestyle through it'. I am already happy if I see my children eat a carrot or a green bean without a whole nagging drama with a lot of 'yuck, yuck, bleh' beforehand.

December is also not the easiest month. It is a month full of fun, but above all a lot of goodies. Saying 'no' to everything is not something that makes me happy either. The key, as always, is 'balance'. For myself, that means that on the real holidays I can eat sweets, but on the other days I don't let myself be tempted. At least, that's my intention. I try to set a goal that I know is achievable. smoothie bowl

Set a goal

Let's face it, not snacking at all this month is not a very attainable goal. If you find it difficult and want to partially usher in the good old 2 January intentions, determine an achievable goal for yourself. See what you can't or don't want to ignore. I WIL simply eat well at Christmas. I WIL just a oliebol with old and new. So: on the holidays itself I can enjoy. I limit it around that. 

In January we will look further and I want to take you on my real journey. I miss that between all those fit and healthy people. A real journey and real struggles! What are your goals in January? Nice and easy: click on the logo of your favorite supermarket to add the ingredients.

And this is how you make it:

  • Place the banana, peach and soy milk in your blender and blend until smooth.
  • Take your bowl and scoop the smoothie into it.
  • Top the smoothie with the chia seeds, grated coconut, and hemp seeds and sprinkle with sea salt.
  • Delicious bites!
