Baked feta with garlic olives

Estimated reading time: 3 minutes

As with basically anything you eat, taste should come before price. That certainly applies to Feta. There are so many different cheeses that are sold as feta but are not at all. You can no longer see the wood for the trees and the cheaper packaging often disappears in the trolley. Which is a shame because those "salad cheeses" have so much less flavor and detract from the real feta. Fortunately, feta has now been given a protected name, so that only real feta can also be called feta! Recipe baked feta from the oven

A simple but tasty dish, delicious with a salad or drink.

And that also means that the cheaper producers have had to give their cheese a different name. In the end I would rather pay just a little more money for “the real deal” than a fake…. Bring the sun into your home with this baked feta with garlic olives.

The layer of honey gives a golden edge to the cheese.

Baked feta with garlic olives

Cheese, cheese, cheese what must feta meet in order to be real feta? However, the cheese must be aged for at least 60 days. And it must come from Greece. But not just anywhere from Greece, a certain area has been designated. The animals must be fed in the traditional way with food specific to this region. And nothing but goats and or sheep's milk may be used.

The warm feta and olives are super tasty!

And there are still a few rules. I myself am a big proponent of these kinds of rules. It keeps the big producers at a distance and ensures that small farmers can also have a livelihood! By the way, the most delicious feta I ever ate, yes, in Greece! That is often the case with the sun shining on a terrace and then a nice Greek farmer's salad with olive oil and bread, I dream away here for a while.

Here you will find the complete recipe with all the ingredients you need. I hope you have fun preparing the dish below.
