A fish that you will often encounter in France. They are caught in the Mediterranean and the Atlantic Ocean. Most French supermarkets have a nice fish department and they often have Dorade. But also available in the Netherlands. And if you order it in advance from your fishmonger, you can have it cleaned right away. It's that easy, then all you have to do is turn on the BBQ, put the fish in the grid and we make grilled dorade from the bbq.

Grilled bream from the BBQ is a delicious dish for a summer day. Dorade is a fish with a firm structure and a mild taste. You can season the grilled bream from the bbq with your favorite fresh herbs. I chose thyme and parsley and lemon. These spices give the fish a fresh and aromatic taste. But sage and oregano would also work very well.
These herbs have a more Mediterranean flavor and go well with the sea bream. Or opt for mint for a fresh note. Mint gives the fish a surprising twist and combines well with yogurt or tzatziki. Whatever you choose, you will enjoy this grilled bream from the bbq!
If you want to enhance the taste of the sea bream even further, you can also add some garlic and lemon. Garlic is a common ingredient in Mediterranean cuisine and goes perfectly with fish dishes. Lemon gives the sea bream a fresh taste and ensures that the fish does not become too dry during grilling.
A whole fish from the BBQ is therefore very easy to make. Filleting may be something you will have to teach yourself. But that is also a breeze after a few times. The Dorade has a sturdy skeleton. You can "flip" it quite easily to fillet the other side. Oh and don't throw the leftovers away, throw it in a pan with water, even more fresh herbs and make a nice fish stock! You can keep these in your freezer for another time.

Ingredients:
- 2 whole sea bream - Cleaned and descaled by your fishmonger.
- 1 citroen
- sea salt
- peper
- 6 twigs Parsley
- 2 twigs thyme

And this is how you make it:
- Light your BBQ, preferably one with coals for the smoke effect in your fish.
- Sprinkle salt and pepper in the cavity of the dorade and fill it with lemon slices and some thyme and parsley.
- Place the whole fish in the special BBQ fish grid and close it and close it well.
- Place the fish on the BBQ grid and grill it alternately on both sides for 20 / 25 minutes until the fish is cooked.
- Open the grid and carefully remove the fish and place it on your plate.
- You can now fillet the fish with a fish knife.
