Goat cheese balls with Parma ham

We are heading towards the holidays again so last night's dinner gave me the chance to try out some small recipes again. And also to test it with my guests. For a fun and festive plate, you can make these goat cheese balls with Parma ham. In this recipe I used cresson. This is a type of leafy vegetable that is often used as a garnish. The delicious fresh goat cheese goes well with the ham and the balsamic cream. A goat cheese recipe.

For 4 people Goat cheese balls with Parma ham you will need:

Goat cheese balls with Parma ham
  • 3 fresh soft goat cheese
  • 1 bag of cresson (watercress)
  • bottle of balsamic cream
  • 1 pack of Parma ham
  • a bag of peeled pistachios
  • a bag of almonds
  • salt pepper
  • olive oil
  • Provencal herbs

And this is how you make the goat cheese balls with Parma ham:

-Take your food processor and grind the pistachios in it. You can add some salt and pepper for taste. Then do the same with the almonds and add some Provencal herbs. Set aside in two shallow containers.

-Take the cresson, if you can't find it you can also use lamb's lettuce. Make small bunches and then roll them tightly in a slice of Parma ham. I've folded the slice in half so it stays in place a bit more firmly.

-The fresh goat cheese is easy to form into balls, which you then roll in the ground nuts. One scoop through the pistachio and the other through the almonds.

-Take your plates and put some balsamic cream on the plates, then put the two balls of goat cheese on each plate. Drizzle some olive oil over the watercress leaves to make them shiny.

Goat cheese balls with Parma ham:

And so you have a super nice appetizer, but you can also use these goat cheese balls and watercress bouquets separately from each other as an amuse-bouche. As wine I added a delicious Italian frizzante. This is a very lightly sparkling Italian wine that goes well with this dish: Delicious bites!
