Seasoned pulled pork basic recipe
I seasoned the meat with the spice mix from Van Beekum spices. They have a ready-made spice mix. Of course you can add extra herbs like I did with bay leaf and juniper berries. This time I used scalloped meat, but you can also use rib steaks.
And by the way, you can also stew pork chops very well! Always let the meat come to room temperature before frying, so that it cooks more evenly and gets a better texture. The stewing itself can be a tasty experience; use aromatic herbs such as thyme, bay leaf and garlic for a refined taste. And it is also delicious to let the meat stand for a day after stewing, so that the flavors can soak in and intensify.
Just let it rest and the next day it will be so tasty that it invites you to share it with friends and family. You can serve it directly with seasonal vegetables and potatoes for a complete and nutritious meal that will please everyone.

Ingredients:
- 1 kg sukade rags
- 3 to stick gingerbread
- 100 ml Red wine
- 2 el stew spice mix
- 4 el croma - (or other shortening)
- 3 leaves laurel
- 6 Juniper berries
- 1 block beef boullion
Nice and easy: click on the logo of your favorite supermarket to add the ingredients.
And this is how you make it:
- Cut the steak into cubes of 2 cm by 2 cm. Sprinkle with the spice mix and toss well.
- Heat a stewpan and add the coma, let it foam for a while and then fry the cubes until they are a nice dark brown.
- Deglaze with the wine and add hot water until they are covered. Add the stock cube, the juniper berries and the bay leaf.
- Place the slices of gingerbread on top and place on a simmer plate and let it simmer gently.
- After 5 hours, remove the lid and stir well. If the sauce is too thin for you, thicken the sauce a bit with cornstarch. Delicious with some boiled potatoes and red cabbage, for example.
