Seasoned prawns with dipping sauce

Seasoned prawns with dipping sauce

Dips are usually cold, right? Think of fetadip, guacamole, or labneh. All super tasty but this time I made a warm sauce. Actually nothing more or less than a thick roux flavored with chili flakes. In principle, you could also cook some pasta and simply serve it as a meal. But now we put the sauce in a fondue pan to keep it warm. We serve it with fried prawns and you then have deliciously seasoned prawns with dipping sauce. Dip and enjoy the moment with the recipe with Seasoned prawns with dipping sauce!

This time I didn't add cheese because I don't think cheese and prawns are a good combination. You can play around with the liquid in the sauce to get the desired thickness. We don't want a sauce that drips a lot when you dip your prawn in it. Oh and extra festive we make the sauce with some Cava. That makes it a nice New Year's Eve snack that you can serve with the rest of the Cava before the clock strikes 00:00.

Ingredients:

For the sauce you will need:

  • 20 gram butter
  • 20 gram flower
  • 100 ml digging
  • 350 ml broth
  • ½ tl chili flakes

Nice and easy: click on the logo of your favorite supermarket to add the ingredients.

And this is how you make it:

  • Fry the prawns in some olive oil with the persillade. Let them cool slightly before putting them on the skewers.
  • To make the sauce, first melt the butter in a pan and then add the flour. Fry this briefly and then pour in the Cava, followed by the stock, while stirring. Sprinkle in the chili flakes and stir well.
  • Pour the sauce into, for example, a fondue pan and serve with the prawns.
  • Delicious bites!
