This spiced chicken with stewed beans is one word amazing! Super easy to make, but we don't compromise on taste. We season the chicken well in advance with various herbs and spices. And the sauce that we make in the pan where we also stew the beans also has plenty of flavor. Are you alone? Then you can still keep the portion ratio for three. Then you simply "prep" your lunch for a few days! stewed beans recipe
Seasoned chicken with stewed beans
Baharat literally means 'spice' in Arabic. It is one of the oldest Arabic spice mixtures and has a delicious savory taste. Baharat spices have a warm and sweet aroma and fit well in, for example, Arabic meat dishes such as this spicy chicken with stewed beans.
But you can also use Baharat to flavor various other dishes. Think of meat, vegetables and even stews. Give your dishes an exotic twist with this versatile spice mix. Experiment and vary with Baharat to surprise your taste buds. Give Baharat a try and discover a new world of flavors and aromas.
Want some variation? You can replace the beans with broccoli, green asparagus, bimi, eggplant, etc.! This way you can try a different vegetable every time and ensure a varied diet. You can also use herbs and spices entirely to your own taste.
Experiment with different combinations such as oregano, thyme, cumin or paprika for a new taste experience. Replace the chicken breast with chicken thigh, or turkey. These types of meat have a different texture and taste, which makes for an interesting twist. You can also vary a lot with that. For example, try pork or even a vegetarian alternative such as tofu or tempeh.
Here you will find the complete recipe with all the ingredients you need. I hope you enjoy preparing the dish below. Delicious Happen!

And this is how you make it:
- Season the chicken fillet with the baharat and some salt, rub both sides well with it.
- Blanch the green beans in a pan for 5 to 8 minutes and then drain them.
- Heat a frying pan and add the olive oil and butter and fry the chicken fillets until golden brown on both sides. (They won't be completely done yet, but that will come later when they're stewing.) Remove them from the pan and set them aside on a plate and cover them.
- Pour the chicken stock into the casserole, add the harissa, capers and lime and bring to the boil and reduce slightly.
- Spoon the beans and chicken into the pan and let it stew for a while with a lid on the pan until your chicken is done.
I love chicken! In any case, also a good source of proteins because of the many sports. But it is also a deliciously versatile piece of meat. Here are some other great dishes that you should also try:
