A tasty bite! This is how you make it and you can eat this halloumi skewer recipe with sweet and sour sauce as a lunch dish or dinner. Halloumi is a grill cheese, this cheese does not melt and drip like other goat cheeses that do. This is due to the protein structure of this cheese. The cheese consists of a mix of cow/goat and sheep's milk. So you can grill it, bake it or even fry it. The cheese originates from Cyprus. halloumi bbq
The sweet-and-sour sauce that I serve with this recipe is of course made by yourself, a simple job and tastier than from a jar! By making it yourself you can also give it extra spice or spiciness to the sauce.

And this is how you make the Halloumi skewer with sweet and sour sauce:
We'll make the sauce first. Place the sugar with the water and the white wine vinegar in a saucepan. Heat this until the sugar has dissolved in it and then stir in the tomato paste and ketchup. Bring this to the boil while stirring. Add the cornflour paste while stirring and keep stirring until it is thickened. Now add salt and pepper to taste and also the garlic powder. Stir well and you're done!
- Cut the various fruits and vegetables into quarters or slices. Also carefully cut the halloumi, be careful it breaks into pieces rather quickly. So you have to thread this very carefully onto the skewer.
-Heat your grill device or your grill pan with some olive oil and then place the skewers on it. Grill it carefully on all sides. As you will notice the halloumi will just stay whole on the skewer and not melt away.
