For me, Christmas dinner 2019 is really a menu with many Christmas classics. And when I browsed through my recipes I saw that I do have a nice variation on stewed pears but not the "regular" version at all! High time to write down my recipe for deliciously spicy Christmas traditional stewed pears. By the way, making the pears is not very complicated, it just takes some time to let them stew nicely so that the flavors are well absorbed. Which of course means that you can make these pears a day or two in advance! No stress on the day itself but just take them out of the fridge, heat them up and serve. cook stewed pears

Delicious spicy Christmas stew pears
If we are talking about a classic, then the stewed pear is one of them! Pears have existed since prehistoric times. Their exact origins can no longer be determined, but the first pears were cultivated in Central Asia. Through immigration, crusades, and monastery monks who cultivated them in abundance, the pear found a valuable place in Europe. This versatile fruit became a much-praised delicacy and has taken an important place in our culinary traditions.

So much so that there are quite a few proverbs that use the word 'pear', which is a testament to the cultural significance it has for our society.
“Staying with the baked pears”
" Comparing apples to oranges "
“The best pears have been picked”

And there are many more that can be mentioned and you have probably already used one of these proverbs yourself….
