From procrastination comes cancellation, or not? This recipe has been on my mind for a while now. The idea comes from Foodie-friend Jadis' cookbook from The lemon kitchen. She has many fine recipes with a fresh twist. A review of her book could therefore not be missed on my site. What you may not know is that I am a huge lemon fan myself. It is therefore certainly a fine seasoning in the kitchen. Besides persillade, salt and pepper a commonly used piece of fruit here. This whole cauliflower with grilled vegetables is a whole Cauliflower Out of the oven. Yes, we put it in the oven in its entirety. Grilling gives it an extra flavor dimension. cauliflower casserole recipe
Whole cauliflower with grilled vegetables
The Lemonkitchen the cookbook
As I mentioned earlier, this recipe for a whole cauliflower with grilled vegetables from the oven is inspired by a great recipe from Jadis. In her book you will find an abundance of information about organic lemons, through which Jadis takes you on a culinary adventure through different flavors. Her book contains beautiful recipes inspired by the four seasons, providing a diverse and flavorful cooking experience. By following Jadis' recipes, you can treat your taste buds and discover how this cauliflower can play the starring role in a delicious dish.
Each season has different toppers in the lead role, but the red or actually yellow thread through the book is the lemon. Jadis shows that the "acidity" in the lemon can be processed in many ways.
Here you will find the complete recipe with all the ingredients you need. I hope you have fun preparing the dish below.

Nice and easy: click on the logo of your favorite supermarket to add the ingredients.
And this is how you make it:
- Preheat your oven to 200 degrees.
- Remove the outer leaves of the cauliflower. Also remove the outer layer of the red onions and shallots and cut them into quarters. (Do not remove the "butt" otherwise they will fall apart right away).
- Clean the celeriac and cut into wedges.
- Boil the cauliflower in plenty of water for 6 minutes and then drain well.
- Squeeze the garlic cloves in a bowl. Add the paprika powder, the tablespoon of persillade and two sprigs of finely chopped parsley. Beat in the soft butter until everything is well mixed. Season with salt and pepper.
- Take two narrow oven dishes. One you put in the red onion, shallot and celeriac. Drizzle over some olive oil and balsamic vinegar.
- Place the whole cauliflower in the other oven dish and brush with the butter. (Keep two teaspoons aside for baking the breadcrumbs.) Drizzle the juice of 1 lemon over the cauliflower and then put both dishes in the oven for 25 minutes. Halfway through, baste the cauliflower again with the liquid in the dish .
- In a frying pan, fry the bread that you have ground into a crumb with the two teaspoons of butter.
- Remove the dishes from the oven and place the cauliflower on a nice serving dish and add the vegetables. Sprinkle the breadcrumbs on the cauliflower and finish with some finely chopped fresh parsley.
- Delicious bites!
