homemade energy bars

This is how you make the Homemade energy bars:

You do need a food processor for this recipe to mix all the ingredients. So first take your food processor and add: the dates, the peanut butter, the cranberries, the teaspoon of vanilla, the coconut grater, and finally the oatmeal. Turn on the machine and let it run until a kind of dough is formed. It will be quite a bit greasy and grainy.

-Then remove the dough from the machine and put it in a bowl. Add the seed mix and knead it through the dough.

- Take a cutting board and place a sheet of baking paper on it. Grab your cookie cutter and remove a chunk of the dough ball. Press it firmly into the mold with your fingers. I used plastic gloves because it's quite a greasy job. Carefully remove the shape from the strip and voila: your energy bar is ready.

- Finally, sprinkle some loose coconut grater over the strips and put them away in the fridge for a night to stiffen

The bars can be stored in an airtight container or bag without any problems. It is of course also possible to freeze them individually. This means you have a stock ready at all times. In short, they provide an excellent energy boost for athletes during their training sessions or competitions.

Here you will find the complete recipe with all the ingredients you need. I hope you have fun preparing the dish below.
