A side dish that is on my table every year at Christmas Brussels sprouts! Sometimes just cooked with bacon on the side, other times I stir-fry them. Also this year with these honey mustard Christmas Brussels sprouts. Because what a fantastic marriage that is. Honey and mustard, those flavors go so well together and complement each other so well. It is also definitely one of my favorite flavors when it comes to salad dressings. We love Brussels sprouts here at home, but dare I say that even the biggest Brussels sprout haters should give this recipe a try. Logically, the hands went together for this dish and I will definitely make it more often!
Honey mustard Christmas Brussels sprouts
Did you know that there is a specific gene that 25% of humanity is missing that prevents them from tasting the bitter taste in a sprout? And when you add a splash of lemon juice while cooking, the air doesn't smell so much like “brussels sprouts”? So it may well be that I don't have that gene and that's why I'm so fond of Brussels sprouts. It's funny that it runs in the family, because my husband likes them too and our daughter likes to eat them too.
By the way, Brussels sprouts are not only super tasty, but they are also an excellent source of vitamin C. Just 4 Brussels sprouts a day provide your daily dose of vitamin C. Moreover, purple Brussels sprouts are now also available. This variant has a slightly milder and sweeter taste, making it an interesting option for Brussels sprouts lovers who like to vary.
Feel free to experiment with these purple Brussels sprouts to surprise your taste buds and enjoy the many health benefits that Brussels sprouts have to offer.
Here you will find the complete recipe with all the ingredients you need. I hope you have fun preparing the dish below.
