My hairdresser noticed that I've been making a lot of recipes with pumpkin lately. And that is also true because a frequently heard comment is: “pumpkin is delicious, but what should I do with it….”. Well there are really plenty of options, and a lot of them appear here on my website. Because we don't only eat large pieces of meat during Christmas, but also delicious vegetables, I made this maple syrup grilled pumpkin with walnut. Nice and sweet, but also spicy due to the use of cinnamon and fresh rosemary. Oh and if there happens to be some left over, it's an ideal salad to take to work. grilled pumpkin recipe from the oven.

Pumpkin grilled in maple syrup with walnut
Maple syrup or in English Maple syrup is made from the sap of the maple tree. During the winter, the tree stores sugar in its roots, which then flows upwards through the bark in the spring. By collecting and concentrating this juice you get this syrup. The vast majority are produced in Canada. They have even incorporated the maple leaf into their flag. It is often served with those thick pancakes, poffertjes or with French toast.

For the production of 1 liter of syrup 40 liters of sap from the tree is needed. An adult maple tree gives this amount every 4 to 6 weeks. A labour-intensive job for both the tree and the people who have to empty the bucket with each tree. Of course, the technology is improving because they are already placing tubes in the bark.

Here you will find the complete recipe with all the ingredients you need. I hope you have fun preparing the dish below.
