Bruschetta: an Italian classic! Bruschetta is a classic among Italian antipasti. Very simple, but very tasty. Bruschetta comes from the Latin word 'bruscare' which means 'to roast on coals'. This refers to the toasted bread used for these antipasti. It is therefore also an ideal way to process stale bread! So I would like to share this recipe for Italian bruschetta tomato with tomato sauce.

You can make a bruschetta in many ways, the standard way is with tomatoes and mozzarella. But it is also very tasty to eat it with a tomato sauce! As we do in this recipe. By the way, the most common mistake is the pronunciation of bruschetta. The correct pronunciation is 'broes-ket-ta'! Do the Italians a favor by pronouncing it that way. And if you want to enjoy this Italian delicacy even more, you can also sprinkle some fresh basil or oregano on top. That gives an extra flavor dimension to your bruschetta. Or you can vary with other types of cheese, such as ricotta or parmesan. There are so many options to customize your bruschetta to your own taste!
