Then you can make this delicious Italian pizette di sfoglia! “Di sfoglia” literally means “of leaves”, so we make them with slices of puff pastry. Because they are made with that, they are ready super quickly and go perfectly with a nice drink. In this recipe I show the standard variant, but you can always add extra ingredients!

Another fun fact: Did you know that the pizza Margherita is named after an Italian queen? Her name was Margherita of Savoy and she was married to King Umberto I. When she came to visit Naples in 1889, a Neapolitan baker named Raffaele Esposito wanted to make her a special pizza. He did this in the colors of the Italian flag: tomato for the red, mozzarella for the white and basil for the green. She liked it so much that the cook wrote her a thank you letter and called this pizza 'pizza Margherita' from now on.
The beginning of a dish that can no longer be ignored in our lives! These Italian pizette di sfoglia are like mini Margheritas. They are made from puff pastry and topped with the same ingredients as the original pizza. They are delicious as a snack or as an appetizer with an Italian meal.

- 2 el oregano
Nice and easy: click on the logo of your favorite supermarket to add the ingredients.
And this is how you make it:
- Defrost the puff pastry and cut out circles. Do this with cake tins or a glass.
- Grab an oven plate, cover it with baking paper and put all the circles on it. (you definitely need two plates or bake it in two batches)
- Beat the egg and brush all rounds with some egg.
- Cover the rounds with a layer of passata (keep the edge a little free). Please note, do use a concentrated passata. If you use peeled tomatoes, boil them first to make a thick sauce.
- Cut the mozzarella into small cubes and use 2 cubes per pizzetta. Put this on the passata.
- Sprinkle the pizzette with some oregano and put the pizzette in the oven at 200 degrees for about 12 minutes.
- You can eat them hot or cold! Delicious Happen!
