Every year I make a Christmas table to dine at a festive table during the holidays. Family and friends come to eat and together we cook delicious dishes and we can dine for hours. The basic decor remains so we can enjoy it for several days. This year I was therefore very happy that I could enter into a partnership with Villeroy & Boch. The tableware of this brand is stunningly beautiful and of fantastic quality. I would like to tell you more about it in this “Christmas table inspiration with Villeroy & Boch” blog. We are going to set a beautiful Christmas table again. rock white
"The time when we forget the time is always the most beautiful. When the world around us stands still and only the moment counts".
— Villeroy & Boch
The story behind the brand
The quote above is as I think it should be. Endless dining, fun and forgetting about time. The Villeroy & Boch brand has a very long history. A company that has been around for centuries! Founded in 1748 in the tiny French Audun-le-Tiche. François Boch starts a ceramics factory with his three sons. Luxembourg is the first sales area that the Boch's focus on. At the time the company was founded, the EU did not yet exist naturally and Luxembourg was part of the Austrian Empire. They are allowed to settle there. They even get the stamp “Manufacture Impériale et Royale”.
The company is continuously developing, in 1809 an abbey is bought in Mettlach. The head office is located there to this day. Porcelain was unaffordable at that time and only affordable for people of nobility. Through innovation they develop a material at Boch that is rock hard, but beautifully white and opens the market with this. All of a sudden, crockery is available for all layers of society. They also win several international prizes.
Not far from the Boch's, however, is another producer. The Villeroy family, they are in regular contact. At that time, the crockery trade was mainly dominated by the English. A collaboration seems to be the next logical step. Villeroy & Boch was born in 1836. The brand can thus maintain a strong trading position in Europe and is thus one of the largest brands in the world to date.
Christmas table inspiration with Villeroy & Boch
Building up the Christmas table this year was all about the beautiful Villeroy & Boch Manufacture Rock blanc collection. A matt white crockery with a “stone structure” on the crockery. In this series you can order various types of plates and bowls. I always start with a bottom plate and then expand the table further. In the photo above you can see the following signs from bottom to top:
“Natural, original and with a special feeling: that is Manufacture Rock. The artisanal style in the form of the matt-structured porcelain in slate look makes the collection something very special”, and that is also reflected on my Christmas table.
Christmas table inspiration with Villeroy & Boch: Glassware on the table
If you give a dinner, you often also need several courses and therefore also several types of glassware. You are also in the right place at Villery & Boch. They also have beautiful glassware in various designs. For my table I chose the NewMoon collection. “The striking rim in the shape of a narrow crescent moon and the resulting slight asymmetry reflect the clear character of the collection”. This crystal glass completes your table and you serve the most beautiful wines in it.
The accessories:
So your basis is the crockery and glassware and you will come up with a theme for that. I wanted a nice white table with green tones. The soft fluffy rugs are a nice contrast to the slate look of the plates. The table is also supplemented with a silver table runner and silver and green decorative Christmas trees. Candles can of course not be missing on the table, and to make it really "Christmas" I sprinkled some fake snow. So let's forget about time and dine until the wee hours! I also wish you a wonderful Christmas. set christmas table
