You need:

Ingredients:

  • 50 gr butter
  • 12 big onions
  • 1 ltr beef boullion
  • 1 baguette
  • 100 gr Gruyere cheese

Herbs and spices

Nice and easy: click on the logo of your favorite supermarket to add the ingredients.

And this is how you make it:

  • Peel all the onions and then cut them into thin rings.
  • Heat a large pan and melt the butter in it. Add the onions and fry them until golden brown, about 20 minutes.
  • Set the oven to 200 degrees and bake the baguette here in about 8 minutes until golden brown. (unless you use freshly baked baguette). After baking, cut into slices of 2 cm or XNUMX.
  • To the pan with the onions, add the stock, bay leaves and juniper berries, and salt and pepper to taste. Lower the heat and let the soup simmer for half an hour.
  • Put your oven on the grill setting. Ladle the soup into the bowls and top with a piece of baguette. Sprinkle the grated Gruyere on top and place in the oven until the cheese has melted nicely. Remove the bowls from the oven with oven mitts and serve.
