Lab wate? If you've never heard of labneh or just don't really know what it is, I'll tell you briefly here. It's actually a kind of hangop. Drained Greek yogurt, Turkish yogurt is also allowed, mixed with some salt and then dressed with olive oil and other tasty herbs, spices and, for example, fruit. It has its origins in the Levant.

You need:

cheesecloth or clean tea towel

Ingredients:

  • 500 gram Greek yoghurt
  • 3 gram salt

To dress the labneh on the scale:

  • baguette
  • olive oil
  • pomegranate seeds
  • olives
  • mixed nuts - chopped
  • fresh mint - a number of
  • za'atar spices

Nice and easy: click on the logo of your favorite supermarket to add the ingredients.

And this is how you make it:

  • Take a bowl and a sieve, place the cloth over the sieve and spoon the yogurt into the cloth. Sprinkle 3 grams of salt on top and stir it through the yogurt. Close the cloth and put the bowl with the strainer in the refrigerator. Let stand for at least 4 hours.
  • Scoop the labneh from the cloth onto a plate and pour some olive oil on it.
  • Decorate the bowl with the things you like, for example from the list above.
  • Delicious bites!
