Linguine in creamy sauce with prawns

Estimated reading time: 4 minutes

I've found that the trick to getting my daughter to taste and eat more lies in using simple ingredients. Instead of making complicated recipes, I use recognizable ingredients that she already likes. I've also noticed that garlic and prawns are particularly popular with her and using these ingredients makes her more likely to eat more. linguine pasta with prawns recipe

Especially when I use a lot of fresh garlic, the dish seems to get instant approval. I recently visited the Sligro and discovered large bags of delicious prawns. I decided to buy them right away and freeze them so that I could easily use them later for a pasta dish.

One day when I made linguine instead of spaghetti and made a completely different sauce than she was used to, she suddenly tasted something new. And guess what? The dish was totally approved by my daughter! The creamy sauce with prawns and linguine turned out to be a successful combination, and now I can occasionally surprise my daughter with a dish she has never tasted before.

Linguine in creamy sauce with prawns
Super simple, but super tasty!!

And this is how you make the Linguine in a creamy sauce with king prawns:

We are going to clean and chop the garlic first. Six toes may seem like a lot, but it will add so much flavor to the pasta! If your prawns are still frozen, thaw them.

Take a large frying pan with a fairly high rim and heat it. Then pour in 2 to 3 tbsp olive oil and fry the prawns with the garlic. Fry them until they are nicely pink and then remove them from the pan and keep them until use.

Cook the pasta according to the package (linguine does not need that long, 4 minutes). When you drain the pasta, keep a small mug of the cooking water.

Making the pasta sauce

Tip the linguine into the frying pan in which you fried the prawns with garlic. Add the whipping cream and the cooking water from the mug and bring to the boil. Add the cheese while stirring and let it melt into a delicious creamy cheese sauce. Season with some salt and freshly ground pepper.

Finally, spoon the prawns with garlic into the pan and mix them with the pasta.

enjoy the delicious smell and taste of the fresh herbs in this linguine recipe. The basil adds a fresh and aromatic flavor to the dish and finishes it off.

You can also sprinkle some freshly grated Parmesan cheese over the pasta for extra flavor. The creamy sauce of the prawns and pasta form a perfect combination with the salty taste of the cheese.

Serve the dish with some crusty baguette or a fresh salad to complete the meal. It's a delicious dish that's both simple and flavorful, perfect for a cozy evening at home.
