Lychee mint lime cocktail

Lychee mint lime cocktail

Estimated reading time: 3 minutes

Ok it's Friday again, time for a nice fresh drink! Again you can serve this lychee mint lime cocktail with or without alcohol. Fresh lychees are only available during a certain time of the year. We buy them in cans for this drink. We also use the juice or syrup they are in to shake with! You will need a muddler for this recipe. That is a special cocktail pestle that you use to mash the mint leaves.

The alcohol in this drink is gin, but you could also use rum or triple sec. Do choose a transparent color so that your drink in your glass remains nice and fresh in color. I always drink flavored sparkling water. This time Spa lemon, but regular spa or even 7-up would also work. So you see that you can easily adapt a cocktail and play with the various ingredients.

We choose lime because it is slightly more acidic than lemon. Lime is used in many cocktails. You can also place a disk on the edge of the glass if you wish. In addition, lime adds a refreshing taste to drinks and provides a subtle citrus aroma.

The zesty citrus properties of lime provide a perfect balance between sweet and sour in cocktails. So if you're looking for a fruity twist in your drink, lime is the ideal choice.

Here you will find the complete recipe with all the ingredients you need. I hope you have fun preparing the dish below.

You need:

muddle
whiskey glasses
cocktail sticks

Ingredients:

  • 1 lime - squeezed
  • 80 ml gin
  • 60 ml lychee syrup
  • 100 ml sparkling water
  • 2 twigs fresh mint

Nice and easy: click on the logo of your favorite supermarket to add the ingredients.

And this is how you make it:

  • Remove the tops from 2 sprigs of mint, leaving a piece of stem attached. Take the skewers and stick the lychee on them. Insert the skewer from the tip of the coin. That is your decoration for your glass.
  • Put a dozen leaves of mint in the shaker and crush them with your muddler.
  • Add some ice to the shaker and pour in the gin, lychee syrup, and the juice of 1 lime. Shake it up!
  • Put some ice in a glass and empty the shaker into the glasses. Top up with the sparkling water and add the skewer.
  • Cheers!
