Some things you only learn to appreciate later in life. Your taste develops over the years and you may also be more open to trying different things. The same goes for mocktails (or cocktails). These mixed drinks have been popular for decades, but I never drank them in my twenties. It just wasn't the drink you chose while out and about. Now that I am in my forties, I have developed a bit more taste and I can appreciate both non-alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. At the moment we are still in January so I am “dry”. Mocktails, tasty cocktails but without alcohol. Like this mandarin cranberry orange bitter mocktail, a sweet, slightly bitter drink with a beautiful foam layer.

Take the time at your liquor store to check the non-alcoholic section. There are now also 0,0% versions available for many types of alcohol. From bitters, to gin, to whiskey, the choice is very wide and I am a fan! Another thing for me is that the mocktails are only offered sparingly. Fortunately, you can now order a nice 0,0% version in many restaurants. Now I also like to make a mocktail at home, because it is not that much work at all, and it is something different from Spa or Cola.
Below is the full recipe with ingredients for this mocktail. Have fun making the drink below. Cheers, and you don't have to hold back on this one...!

It is not at all complicated to shake or pour tasty mocktails. If you experiment with flavors more often, your drinks cupboard will become more filled with various “spirits”. Most alcohol versions are also available in 0,0%, so let's get started!
