Margarita cantaloupe slushy

Margarita cantaloupe slushy

We're going to make a “big people” slushy! You know them from those large containers in which sweet ice cream rotates in various colors. Very sweet and full of an awful lot of dyes…. Although we make a cocktail, so we also use alcohol, this is a slightly better version if I do say so myself. The color comes from fresh fruit and we don't use any crazy ingredients. This Margarita cantaloupe slushy cocktail can also be made in a virgin version! In fact, an alcohol-free version can be found for every kind of spirits these days.

Margarita cantaloupe slushy

A Margarita is a classic cocktail consisting of tequila, orange liqueur and lime juice. Usually the rim of the glass is sprinkled with salt and a slice of lime is hung on it. It is a fresh and summery cocktail that originally comes from Mexico. There is a lot to be found about the origin of the Margarita, there are several people who claim that they were the first to use the drink. In any case, this version is a Francine Original! I really enjoy mixing and making beautiful drinks. And besides that, the photos are always very nice. With this Margarita cantaloupe slushy I hope to inspire you to make a cocktail at home. Making it is done in no time, so it certainly doesn't have to be that.

For this Margarita cantaloupe slushy cocktail you only need a few ingredients: a ripe cantaloupe melon, tequila, orange liqueur, lime juice, ice cubes and some salt and sugar for the rim of the glass. You cut the melon into pieces and puree it with a hand blender or blender into a smooth puree. You add the tequila, the orange liqueur and the lime juice and mix everything together well. You pour this mixture into a large jug or bowl and put it in the freezer for about two hours.

You stir occasionally to break the ice and get a slushy texture. You wet the rim of the glass with some lime juice and dip it in a plate with salt and sugar mixed. You pour the slushy into the glass and garnish with a slice of lime or melon. You enjoy your delicious Margarita cantaloupe slushy cocktail!
