Fancy something really tasty that is not at all difficult to make and is also quickly on the table? Then look no further because you have found it. This recipe with orzo and chicken lends itself very well to eating both vegetarian and meat. In our case, I made this Mediterranean honey chicken orzo. Delicious sweet chicken that goes perfectly with this pasta. Because although orzo looks like grains of rice, it is really pasta. The pasta comes from Italy, but you can actually find it all over the Mediterranean. So we also use tasty herbs from the Arab kitchen to season it well.
And this is how you make the Mediterranean orzo with honey chicken:
We start with vegetables for the orzo. Cut the tomatoes into small pieces, finely chop the shallots and parsley. Cut the bell pepper into small pieces, as do the garlic and olives. Then take a frying pan with a high rim. Pour in a little olive oil and heat the pan, add all the chopped vegetables and stir-fry until it starts to smell nice. Season with a little salt and pepper.
Meanwhile, cook the orzo in a pan with water and some salt and drain. Add to the skillet and sprinkle some ras el hanout on it, I used about a teaspoon. Leave the orzo until use.
Baking the chicken
Cut the chicken breast diagonally through the middle so that you get two thinner slices of chicken breast. Sprinkle salt and pepper on the fillets and then dip them in some flour, shaking off the excess.
Heat some oil in a frying pan and fry the chicken until light brown. Add the crushed garlic, 2 tbsp soy sauce, honey, wine vinegar, and butter and let it simmer until the sauce starts to thicken.

Finally, take your bowls or plates and scoop the orzo here first. Put the chicken on top and with a spoon you scoop some more of the sauce from the chicken pan. Serve with a nice glass of rosé
