Melon tower with mascarpone

Fancy a nice dessert? Then make this melon tower with mascarpone. For the special effects, we let some melted chocolate drip along it. To get the nice turret we of course need several melons. Now I am very much for the no-waste principle, so you can freeze the parts that you don't use. Just cut it into small pieces and use it for a delicious smoothie. Or also wonderfully refreshing: make melon ice creams with it. In any case, enough ideas not to throw anything away. If you're not so fond of mascarpone, just use a dollop of whipped cream. melon dessert

There are about 1200 different types of melons. This number includes both wild and cultivated species and includes a variety of sizes, flavors and texture. Well-known types of melons include watermelons, cantaloupe melons, honeydew melons, Galia melons and casaba melons. Each variety has its own unique taste, texture and uses, and are often eaten as a snack, used in salads or incorporated into drinks and other dishes.

Melon tower with mascarpone and chocolate

-Galia melon
-Cantaloupe melon
-Watermelon
-Melt chocolate
-whipped mascarpone
-Couple strawberries and pomegranate seeds to decorate with.

And this is how you prepare the melon tower with mascarpone:

-Melt a few drops of melting chocolate in a bain-marie first. If you like milk chocolate better, you can of course take it.

-Meanwhile, cut slices of the melons in different thicknesses so that you can build a nice tower. Then cut out circles with a shape. I use those beautiful steel extension rings for that. These are easily available at a good cooking store.

-Take a few spoons of mascarpone and beat it lightly, you can add some sugar if you like to make it a bit sweeter.

-Take a nice plate and place the melon slices on it in the shape of a tower.

Grab a spoon and gently drizzle the melted chocolate down the melon. Put the mascarpone on top and decorate with the rest of the fruit.
