Kiwi facts
How often do you walk through the supermarket and put something in your shopping cart without actually knowing anything about the fruit you are buying? I looked up some fun facts for you:
- You can eat the peel of a kiwi!
- A kiwi contains 161,3 mg of vitamin C per 100 grams and is therefore rich in vitamin C.
- The yellow kiwi is a bit sweeter, the green one has a somewhat fresher taste.
- Kiwis are now also grown in Europe, so you can buy kiwis all year round.
- The name "kiwi" comes from the New Zealand flightless bird the kiwi. The shape of the kiwi fruit was reminiscent of the egg of this bird. They are the fruits of the swinging creeper, the Chinese gooseberry. The "Actinidia chinensis".
- If you store a kiwi near apples, bananas or pears, they will ripen faster.
- If you keep them cool and far away from other fruits, you slow down the ripening process.

Ingredients:
- 2 Zespri SunGold kiwifruit
- 300 ml coconut yogurt
- 6 el granola
- 2 el coconut grater
- 2 el chia seed
- 2 fresh mint
For the green smoothie in this bowl:
- 150 gram spinach
- ¼ Galia melon
- 2 Zespri SunGold kiwifruit
- 3 el chia seed
Nice and easy: click on the logo of your favorite supermarket to add the ingredients.
And this is how you make it:
- Grab your blender and put the melon pulp in it first. Blend until liquid, then add the peeled kiwis. Turn one more time and then add the spinach. Turn until everything is completely blended. Add the chia seeds and let it sit for a while.
- Cut the 2 kiwis in half by zigzagging your knife into the skin. When you're all the way around, gently pull the two halves apart. (You can also slice everything, the zig-zag way is purely decorative).
- Take the bowls and scoop the coconut yogurt in one half, and the green smoothie in the other half.
- Finish the bowl with the chia seeds, grated coconut, sprigs of mint, granola and sliced kiwis.
- Serve right away, Delicious Snacks!
