Pie dishes are fun to make yourself. You can easily buy them in the supermarket, but I find them a bit dried out in taste. It's actually not difficult at all and you can also make the ragout yourself. Opening a can full of preservatives is no match for a homemade ragout! I served this patty with shrimp ragout for lunch and it was well appreciated by my guests. A delicious recipe for patty with Dutch shrimp ragout.
The crispy crust of the pastry case and the creamy filling of the shrimp ragout are a perfect combination. The recipe is easy to follow and the ingredients are easily available. With this classic Dutch dish you can put a delicious and festive meal on the table. Add some finely chopped parsley as a garnish and enjoy this tasty treat.
And this is how you make the Patty with shrimp ragout:
- Preheat the oven to 200 degrees
-We first start with the pastry cases for the Patty with shrimp ragout. Defrost the puff pastry, you can roll it out a little thinner with a rolling pin and use the cut-out rings to stick out the rounds. The first 4 that you cut out with the 7 cm ring are the bottoms. Then make another 12 rounds and use the small ring to cut out the middle. This way you get a kind of ring shape. Keep four of the small rounds, these are the lids. Dutch shrimp ragout
-Take the scrambled egg, brush the edge of the bottom with a brush, then place the first ring, brush it again with some egg and then build a tower with 3 rings. Brush the ring with some egg every time . In the middle you poke holes in the bottom with a fork so that it does not puff up during baking.
-Place a sheet of baking paper on a baking tray and place the pie shells on it, then bake them for about 15 minutes until they are a nice golden brown. Stick with it because you don't want them too dark.
The ragout:
-While the pasties. for the shrimp ragout we make the ragout.
-First melt the butter in a saucepan, then add the flour all at once and let the flour cook for about 2 minutes while stirring. (So a roux).
-Pour in the white wine while stirring and then slowly add the stock, turn the heat to low otherwise it will congeal much too hard.
- Finally add the whipped cream and let it simmer for a while.
- Season with salt and pepper and add the shrimp.
Remove the patties for the shrimp ragout from the oven and take the plates with them, fill the patties with the shrimp ragout and garnish with the fresh chives: Delicious!
