And this is how we make the rib piece from the römertopf:

-First start with your römertopf, put it in cold water and let it soak for 15 minutes. We do NOT preheat the oven. You put the dish in the oven cold and then let it slowly come to temperature.

-Take the piece of rib and cut it into coarse pieces, sprinkle with some salt and pepper.

Peel the onions and cut them into coarse pieces, also cut the tomatoes into quarters. Clean the mushrooms and then chop them too.

-Mix the meat with the vegetables and remove the römertopf from the water. Let it drain briefly and then put the meat-vegetable mix in the bowl. Squeeze the garlic cloves and sprinkle the persillade over it.

- Finally, pour the tomato Frito into the römertopf and mix it all, add 75 ml of water and then put the lid on the römertopf. Put it in the cold oven and set the temperature to 200 degrees. The dish should stew for two hours when the oven has reached temperature.

Finally, remove the dish from the oven and remove the lid, serve with tasty fried potatoes or rice.

  • 1 package tomato frito
