Ricotta cake with Crisp technology

Ricotta cake originates from Italy, where it is a traditional delicacy. This cake is often made with fresh ricotta for a soft, creamy texture and a subtle, rich flavor.

What is Ricotta?

Ricotta is a soft, white Italian cheese made from the whey left over from the production of other cheeses. The word “ricotta” literally means “re-cooked” in Italian, which refers to the process of heating the leftover whey to coagulate the remaining casein and albumin proteins.

You need:

Whirlpool combi microwave with Crisp plate

Ingredients:

  • 100 gram butter - ( soft )
  • 200 gram granulated sugar
  • 1 bag vanilla sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 250 gram ricotta cheese
  • 175 gram wheat flour - sieved
  • 10 gram baking powder
  • 1 box summer fruit - from freezer, thawed (250 grams)

Nice and easy: click on the logo of your favorite supermarket to add the ingredients.

And this is how you make it:

  • Take your Crisp pie dish and spread the inside with butter and then "flour" it.
  • In a mixing bowl put the butter, sugar and vanilla sugar, then beat with your hand mixer for a few minutes until it is creamy.
  • Then beat in the eggs one at a time and then the ricotta. Then sift the flour and baking powder into the bowl and mix to a nice batter.
  • Spoon the batter into your Crisp dish and gently press the fruits into the batter.
  • Place the bowl in the combi microwave and set it to Crisp function, set the timer to 12 minutes.
  • Then let the cake cool before tipping it out of the pan. Do that by placing a plate over the dish and then turning it over in one movement. Then place another plate on top of the cake and turn again so that the top of the cake is also on top.
  • Sprinkle with some icing sugar and serve with some vanilla ice cream if desired.
  • Delicious bites!
No Crisp plate or oven with that function? Bake the cake in a round cake tin lined with baking paper for 25/30 minutes at 180 degrees.
