I must admit that we don't eat peas very often here at home. And that's actually because my daughter is not a big fan of it. You keep looking for other vegetables and these green peas fell into oblivion a bit. But recently I took home two bags of fresh green peas and made this creamy green pea salad with clove cheese. The origin of cloves and cumin cheese actually came about to hide a little secret. Originated in Friesland, because the cows there graze on a poor soil and a lot of influence from the sea, this caused a stiff and salty dairy. To hide this a bit, these spices were added to the cheese. The spices also retained moisture in the cheese and gave it a sweeter and spicier taste. But we are grateful to these stubborn Frisians, because without them this cheese would not have existed.

Ingredients:
- 400 gr fresh peas
- 100 gr clove cheese in cubes
- ½ rode p

For the creamy dressing you will need:
- 3 el mayonnaise
- 3 el cottage cheese
- peper
- salt
- persillade spice mix

And this is how you make it:
- Boil the fresh peas for 10 minutes or until they are tender. Drain and let it cool in the colander for a while.
- Chop and cut all vegetables into very small cubes.
- Also cut the cheese into small cubes.
- Take a bowl and mix the dressing in it. Season with salt, pepper and the persillade mix.
- Finely chop the parsley and then mix everything in a large salad bowl. Leave in the fridge for a while to let all the flavors infuse.
