For as long as I can remember I have loved mushrooms and toadstools. I remember well that I went out for dinner with my father during our outings and always wanted extra fried mushrooms with my steak. I think they're great right out of the pan, but also very much in a soup! So when Martijn suggested this creamy mushroom soup with anise milk as an intermediate dish for our Christmas menu, I immediately agreed. A delicious mushroom soup recipe.
Creamy mushroom soup with aniseed milk
Serving a soup in a nice glass during Christmas dinner is easy to score points! This recipe is super easy and you can also prepare the soup in advance. That was certainly also our starting point that you do the preparation in advance, and then don't have to stress during Christmas itself. This way you don't spend hours in the kitchen and you can spend these days with your visitors or family.
You can easily buy the mushrooms at your supermarket. Especially around the holidays, the range is somewhat more extensive than normal. You can also take a look at the local farmers market, where you often have a wide selection of fresh mushrooms.
And for those looking for a wider selection, wholesale is the best place to go. Mushrooms are available there in all shapes and sizes, from small mushrooms to large shiitakes and portobellos. Enjoy the versatility and taste of these delicious mushrooms!
Here you will find the complete recipe with all the ingredients you need. I hope you have fun preparing the dish below.
