This recipe and these ingredients are our own, but the idea comes from Tasty. There they make short films of often easy dishes. So it's right up my alley. They made a huge meatball filled with spaghetti. Super nice idea, but I found it more practical for a family to make smaller versions of it. Hence this small version of spaghetti in meatball. And they fill well that's for sure! They will certainly appeal to children because it is like a nice surprise to cut open. Serve with a fresh salad with tomato and you have a nice Italian meal.
And this is how you make the Spaghetti in meatball:
-Preheat your oven to 190 degrees, and line a baking tray with baking paper.
- Boil the spaghetti al dente and add some spaghetti sauce and mix it well, then set it aside.
- Chop the shallots and place them in a large bowl with the minced meat. Break the egg and put it in too. Season to taste with the herbs, salt and pepper. Mix well and add breadcrumbs. I have not added an exact number of grams, you have to do this by feel so that the minced meat is not too wet.
- Divide the minced meat into six parts and then take a piece of baking paper with it. Place a portion of minced meat in between and with a rolling pin, roll it flat between the paper. Do not roll too thin or it will break too easily during baking. Roll some spaghetti onto a roll with a fork and place it on top of the minced meat. Fold it closed and knead it into a firm meatball. You push the air out of the spaghetti, as it were. Do this with all six balls and then place them on the baking tray lined with baking paper.
-Put them in the oven for about 30/35 minutes until they are cooked through, the outside should be nicely browned.
