Speculaas crumble with apples

Estimated reading time: 4 minutes

Spiced Bisquit. I've loved it for as long as I can remember. And especially those nice thick, brittle slices of cake. Preferably a little bit burnt on the edges… Okay, so much for my love for the cake haha. Do you also love gingerbread chunks? I made this speculaas crumble with apples and I passed on my love to my daughter with it. He really didn't have enough after a small bowl. When asked if she wanted some whipped cream with it, the answer was: ” no mom because then you taste so little of the cake!” #mission accomplished. Do you also want to enjoy a very nice crumble, don't hesitate and get started with this recipe. You certainly won't be disappointed!

And this is how you make the Speculaas crumble with apples:

-We will first peel the apples and remove the core. Then cut them into fine cubes and put them in a bowl. Add the caster sugar and the speculaas spices. Do that a little by feel, not too much of course.

- Take another large bowl and add the butter, flour, granulated sugar and a pinch of salt. Use your fingers to make a shortcrust pastry. When you've done that, break the gingerbread chunks into small pieces and add them to the bowl. Toss everything around so that it is evenly distributed.
