My recipes are largely a reflection of my life. From the past or from the present. Sometimes recipes with a story, sometimes something I ate somewhere and then make something of it myself. This Surinamese roti recipe reminds me of my period when I lived on the Binnenweg in Rotterdam. To my left and right were several toko's and tasty eateries. This is how I regularly got a chicken sandwich, a saoto soup and certainly Surinamese roti kip with garter! I used to make it myself before I became a blogger. chicken roti Surinamese
And strangely enough, the recipe had never made it to my blog. Until I received a nice package with cookbook from Faja Lobi. A Surinamese brand that can easily guide you through Surinamese cuisine.
Surinamese roti chicken with long beans
If you live in such a melting pot of cultures, it would almost be strange not to be able to deal with it yourself. This Surinamese roti chicken with long beans has ingredients that you can actually buy at any supermarket. But garter that was a bit complicated here in the countryside. That's why I bought it from the wholesaler. If you really can't find it, you can also just use green beans for this recipe.
Garter has something to do with that. The Faja Lobi products are easy to use and help you with the authentic Surinamese flavors that you recognize as soon as you take your first bite.
Here you will find the complete recipe with all the ingredients you need. I hope you have fun preparing the dish below.

chicken roti Surinamese
Such a shame that you don't make the roti yourself, and the herbs from a jar for convenience of course but I make it the traditional way and I will tell you it is really much more Worth it
As you can read in the recipe, I was given these products to test them. I don't think there's anything wrong with giving it a try. Of course, making everything from scratch is definitely worth it, but please note that not everyone has the time or the inclination for it. And then these products of original Surinamese background are not so bad after all. Greetings Francine
