On the weekend (or of course on tortilla tuesday) you can sometimes have a nice snack! This tortilla bowl with guacamole is ideal for that! I love tortilla chips with guacamole. In this recipe we add many more ingredients and that makes it a real meal. We make delicious Mexican seasoned minced meat and a dollop of sour cream, to lick your fingers! Tortilla chips oven

Fun fact is that guacamole from Nahuatl (the language spoken by the original inhabitants of Mexico) means avocado sauce. Coriander is often used in Mexican cuisine. Now I don't like coriander at all and always prefer to use flat parsley as a fresh herb. guacamole recipe

And this is how you make the Tortilla bowl with guacamole:

– First preheat the oven to 220 degrees.

-We then make the guacamole.

- Chop the onions and garlic and then cut the tomatoes into 4 parts. Remove the seeds and the moist middle part. Then cut them into small cubes. Finely chop the red pepper and squeeze the lime.

-Take a bowl and put the chopped vegetables in it, sprinkle with salt and pepper and then the sour cream. Mix this until everything is well mixed.

-Take the avocado and remove it from the skin. With a fork you now mash it through the mixture until you have a nice green guacamole. Finally, mix in the lime juice and then set it aside in the fridge. You can grind it extra fine in a food processor if you really want a creamy soft sauce.

- Then chop the garlic cloves and the white onion and cut the bell pepper into small pieces.

-Take a frying pan and stir in the minced meat, then add the chopped onion, garlic cloves and pieces of bell pepper. Sprinkle the Mexican spice mix over it and bake for 3 minutes.
-In the meantime, place the tortilla chips in an ovenproof dish, place a few slices of cheddar cheese on top and the minced meat on top. Then sprinkle the grated cheese on top and put it in the oven until the cheese has melted.

Finally, after removing it from the oven, serve the Tortilla bowl with guacamole with a generous dollop of guacamole and sour cream. It is very nice to drink a light Mexican beer with this: Delicious bites!
