Update Delicious Happen knockout race 1

Estimated reading time: 6 minutes

And suddenly we are a month further, it seems much longer but the first blog came online 07-01. In it I also promised to give you regular updates about my experiences. And the numbers of course, because measuring is knowing! Without immediately disguising what the results are, I can tell you that they are there. As I explained earlier, I'm not necessarily just about what the scale calls, but it's something to hold on to for myself.

Around me I see others who, like me, “struggle” with their weight, mental health, and overall self-acceptance. Me and you are certainly not alone in this. And they are both men and women, I hope my story might give you that bit of motivation you just need! Read along in the update Delicious Happen elimination race 1.

Hello gym and patient asphalt

It should come as no surprise to anyone that losing weight goes hand in hand with eating healthier and exercising. And especially the latter I have had a love-hate relationship with for years. I can really focus on sports for a while and then suddenly I'm sick of it again. Knowing that I get tired of all kinds of mind-numbing exercises very quickly, I need diversity. And in my case it is twofold. This is how I started my running career again. I set myself very clear goals in the form of registrations for various runs.

Runners are dead runners

To make sure I don't get another mega injury this time, we're taking it easy! The first goal is 5km. On March 6, I'm going to run the Vestingloop van Gorinchem and that's what I'm training for. Now I can already walk that distance, so my schedule is set for 10km. And therein lies the next challenge. The Almere City run on June 26. The coming months will therefore be dominated by these two runs. I run on a running schedule 3x a week, and that is with various interval training sessions, long runs, and inclines.

Rain or shine, let's go! Ok not all the storms but we are not afraid of a small shower, are we?

Fitness babe

The observant viewer and reader also sees me regularly in the gym. This is for muscle building, endurance and variety. You can also find me here 3 times a week. Which means that I have gone from exercising 1 max 2x a week to 6 days a week… That's quite a lot I can tell you, but the well-known endorphins that provide that feeling of happiness after exercise make it easier for me. All in all, it is a combination of cardio and strength training.

Don't expect Silvie Meis like perfectly posed pictures from me people! What you see is what you get haha

cup, cup

Losing weight, losing weight and being happy with what you see in the mirror go hand in hand with what is happening in my head. Because how are we going to defeat that dragon there? That dragon of a thought that I'm never good enough as a human being? Fortunately, I don't feel so bad that antidepressants are needed for that, or that I should seriously need treatment, but somewhere I have to get my mindset right. I will elaborate more on that later in a future blog.

To measure is to know….. Update Delicious Happen knock-out race 1

Drum roll and now the numbers! Because has it already helped all that sports?! Yup! Of course it's not just the sports, but I haven't had a drop since last time. And I won't do that until at least my first run. I also eat low-carb, and I also drink liters of water. And that resulted in:

  • current weight: 81,4 kg that is -5,2 kg with the first measurement.
  • fat percentage is: 40,7 which means 1,3% less body fat.
  • BMI: 26.1
  • chest circumference: 104 cm / -2 cm
  • waist circumference: 95 cm / -1 cm
  • buttock size: 111 cm / -2cm
  • calf circumference: 39cm / no difference
  • arm circumference: 30cm / -1cm

Now I could be quite happy, but I know I still have a long way to go. So I don't want to cheer too hard at these results just yet. The danger in that would be that I think I can take it easy again. For me it's important to keep this flow and keep pushing myself!

The app says my goal could be in 6 1/2 months of reach, but I don't see that happening anytime soon.

  1. Hey,

    What a character you have!
I weighed 36 kg until I was 56 years old and then suddenly kilo per kilo until now 77 kg for a long time
I can't walk anymore, I've tried fitness so much but I can't keep up.
Best for me is walking but then I want to take my dog and every 2 minutes this is a sniff.
    Sometimes I go alone.
Aperitifs are also the culprit and too little exercise (desk work).
My daughter is a dietician but she says that I know what healthy food is, but I certainly eat too much and exercise too little.
I never had such an urge to eat before.
I didn't get my plate empty, now I'm already eating from the pan
Still doing my best for sure!?

    Hats off to you girl

    1. Hi! Thank you, it takes trial and error, you don't get results in a week, this will take months, but we're going for it! You can do it too because you secretly already know where your problem lies, so hop on those sneakers and go! Good luck, Francine
