A delicious Valentine's cake to surprise your sweetheart, it doesn't have to be more difficult, right?! And making this cake is not complicated at all. What does a man want more. The tufts of whipped cream in this recipe are my "all time favorite" combination of mascarpone and whipped cream. And that often shows with you too, because one of the most viewed desserts on my site is the one with this whipped cream combination. Let's see if this delicious cake can knock that recipe off the throne…. mascarpone recipe
And this is how you make the Valentine's cake to surprise your sweetheart:
-Let's make the dough first. Grab your food processor and put the flour in it first, powdered sugar, almond flour and the butter cubes. Mix this until you get a grainy whole and then add the beaten egg with the vanilla and a pinch of salt. Turn the mixer back on and you will see a nice ball of dough forming before your eyes.
-Take a piece of cling film and wrap the ball in it. Then put it in the fridge for an hour.
Making the hearts
After the hour, take the ball out of the fridge, place it on baking paper and roll out to a slice of half a cm thick. Press 3 hearts out of the dough with your heart cutter. What's left can be used for smaller shortbread cookies. Place the hearts back in the fridge for an hour. (Do not skip this step).
-Preheat your oven to 180 degrees.
- Take your hearts out of the fridge and bake them in the oven for 12 to 14 minutes. The edges should be a little golden brown. Then remove them from the oven and let them cool completely.
The whipped cream mix for the Valentine's cake to surprise your sweetheart
While the hearts are baking we can make the whipped cream mix. First put the mascarpone with the icing sugar in the bowl and mix on low speed until the icing sugar is completely incorporated, then add the whipped cream and slowly increase the speed until you have a delicious lumpy whipped cream mix. Spoon into a large piping bag and refrigerate until ready to use.

Finally, place the hearts on a plate and take the piping bag. Cut off a point and pipe approximately equal balls over the edge. Build the cake with the three layers in this way. Decorate with tasty chocolates and candies.
